1. Who is John Garang?
John Garang is the fonder of the SPLM and the SPLA. John Garang died about 2 years ago and to be 3 in July of this year. He didn't view the problems in Sudan the way others did. He had a different way of looking at and understanding those problems and believed he had a way to solve those problems. His religion was a Christian and he was from the Southern part of Sudan, and the Dinka tribe.
2. Who are the Dinka people of Sudan? The Dinka are the people in Sudan who live in the Southern part of Sudan. They all were split into groups and later split into sub groups. The Dinka have cattle in which they get food from and butter is made from it. The cattle's urine they use to die their hair. The Dinka people use body art to brush their teeth and also to keep away blood sucking ticks. The cattle they have however, are not killed for meat. But if one of them dies or is sacrificed then they do eat the meat from the cattle. The skin of it they use for belts, drum skins, mats, and I'm sure many other things.
3. What is the SPLM/SPLA?
In Sudan and also known all over the world the letters SPLM stands for Sudan's People Liberation Movement. The letters SPLA stands for Sudan's People Liberation Army. As stated in the answering of my other question John Garang was the founder of both the Liberation Movement and the Liberation Army. The Sudan's People Liberation Army was formed in the year 1983, along with the Sudan's People Liberation Movement.
4. Describe the incidents, events, and the developments of the genocide in Sudan?
The incidents that happened in the genocide was that the SPLA was accused of human rights abuse. With in the 46 years of war the Southern part of Sudan has lost 2 million people- which is about most of their population. For the people in Sudan school, health, and transportation is almost non existent to them. This has caused 2 generations of of children with no education and completly illerterate. Also in Sudan there are people who have no choice but to become a slave. I believe that the effects the war had on the people of Sudan is really kind of unreal. This to me is unbelievable, that they can actually get away with these things now that, we are not even in those times when slavery was allowed.
5. Pan-Afrikanism is the unity of different Afrikan people and different Afrikan nations. How would this type of unity benefit Sudan?
I believe that this could help the people of Sudan because, maybe it can help them to have some type of unity among themselves. This would actually be pretty great for them because, it can help the people of Sudan to accept each other for who they are. For eaxample, from my research the reason another genocide has com about is simply because, of the religion that some of the people in South Sudan have or believe in. So this would be a terrific idea for the people of South and North Sudan.
